You already have some knowledge of English, but stumble over your own words in conversations? You don't want to attend a conventional language course to consolidate your language skills? Do you want to practice with your peers? Then our special conversation course for seniors is just right for you.
Traditional language courses can be impersonal, inflexible, even daunting. Especially for those who want to get back into learning and speaking a foreign language in old age. That's why support is very important to us - we take our time, take your personal learning pace into account and make sure that you can talk in a small, friendly group in a relaxed and confident manner.
We attach particular importance to oral communication in the foreign language, so that you can make yourself understood on vacation in Australia, chat with your American friends or even order authentic fish & chips. In terms of content, we focus on your individual interests - for example, we can talk about your favorite books or series in the foreign language.
What is different about us?
We do not believe that one gets too old to learn a language - and our participation in the DYNAGE3 study at the University of Salzburg shows us this very clearly. We know what hurdles learners have to overcome and how we can provide the best possible support.
Possible areas of focus are (we adapt the course to the wishes of the participants):
- Dialogues and speaking exercises (acting out everyday situations, practicing conversations with friends, retelling events, etc.)
- Planning and organizing vacations
- Literature (read and discuss favorite novels or short stories)
- Songs (paraphrase or add to verses of favorite songs)
- Videos (music videos, short news videos, etc.) listen and discuss)
Course costs: € 245,- for 12 appointments of 120 minutes each
